JUNE 2008 REPORT
We
have been told the reunion in Fremantle over the ANZAC Day period was a resounding
success. We had approximately 140 veterans and 100 wives/partners attend.
The financial side worked out well at the end after getting a few late sponsor
donations which enabled us to put on a few extra free meals and nearlly cover
the last nights drinks bill.
Congratulations to Peter Price from Victoria who has put his hand up for a reunion
in 2 years time - 2010, we hope all the Victorians will get behind him and his
committee to host another great union.
We received $4000 from the Canberra reunion and we will hand this much on to
the 2010 committee. A jug was passed around on the last night and the total
of donations was $850.00 this will go to Victoria also. The remaining funds
left over will be distributed between the Adelaide Association and the Victorian
committee.
All I can say is a huge thank you to everyone that attended from the Eastern
States, we hope you enjoyed yourselves and also the West Australian hospitality
all around the state.
These events do not happen without a huge amount of effort from a lot of people
and I thank all the WA committee and other West Australian members who supported
us all the way through.
We thank you very much. We've made a lot of new friends and we look forward
to seeing you all in 2010 somewhere in Victoria.
